Sunday, June 22, 2003 Gordo planned to run to the summit of Pikes Peak - over 7,000 feet of climbing to the 14,000-foot summit. I drove support, dropping him off in Manitou Springs - some 13 miles below - and then picking him up at the summit. He couldn't have picked a better day for it as the weather conditions were perfect. Earlier in the week the road to the summit was closed at the 11,000-foot mark due to weather.

Click here to read Gordo's report on his mountain run: Pikes Peak Run.

I must say, it was pretty nice sitting up there on top of the world. :-)

Where's Gordo II?

Gordo coming up the final stretch.

Almost at the top of the world.

Just under three hours and 7,000+ feet of climbing later, a run well done.

The Team at the Summit.

Who's that ripped dude? ;-)
