The Vegas to Boulder Crew

This training road trip was hatched while Gordo was driving to Boulder from an ultrafit training clinic in St.George, Utah. Enjoying the drive and seeing how great it could be to ride, Gordo mapped out a point-to-point 12-day trip from Las Vegas to Boulder. The plan was to get a group of guys together and ride pretty much a century a day while swimming and running along the way. As some places were fairly small and didn't have pools, Gordo brought along his Vasa trainer. As a crew started coming together, it was decided that renting an RV would be the way to go.

And now may I present "The V2B Crew"...

Gordo who needs no introduction and just plain loves to train.

Chuckie V from Boulder - pro triathlete, IMC winner, and of course, the guy that took the beer at IMH. ;-) Chuckie came along for the trip because he felt there was no better way to prep for IMCDA than this.

Jay Crooker from Boulder - USAT certified coach (www.ironcoach.com) and 9x Ironman, Jay was looking for something new in his preps for IMCDA.

Berti Levy from New Jersey - Going from a couch potato to a century a day in less than two years, Berti knew this was an opportunity not to miss.

Gary "Tondo" from Seattle - Gary hooked up with the crew in St.George and stayed through to Price, Utah. Gary was also prepping for his first Ironman, IMCDA.

Wy, the V2B support girl.

Overheard on the Road...

On the cell phone with Gary after his first day on V2B...
Wy: "Any food requests?"
Gary: "Aleave..."

On Chuckie's mental state...
Berti: "Dude, you're unhinged."

At the top of a wicked descent...
Chuckie: "OO-DAWG!"

On wireless internet signal strength...
Wy: "This is a flatline town."

On setting the pace...
Gordo: "Heart rate training, baby!"

Details stay within the V2B crew, but...
Chuckie: "Ooops, I broke your..." ;-)

On getting flak for a hairy chest...
Jay: "Screw you guys."

Mental preps for the day ahead...
Chuckie: "We got some suffering to do."

And heading out for the day's 2nd 50-miler...
Gordo: "Colour me gone."
